This seems like the hardest part about dealing with a Narc, especially if they are a family member. If it is a father or a mother, most people feel an obligation to keep in contact in one way or the other, after all, they are the ones who gave you life and raised you. But in a way, they know this, and in their mind, they can treat you any way they want and you will take it because "they are the parent". It is only with no contact, as difficult as it may be, that a narc victim can truly be free of the abuse
